How we protect your information

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 20, 2026

Because Psychology is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you use our platform, including when you book paid counseling sessions.

Information We Collect

When you register, book a session, contact us, or interact with our platform, we may collect:

  • Name, email address, and phone number
  • Account credentials (stored as encrypted passwords)
  • Booking details: session type, date, time, and optional notes
  • Payment transaction references (order ID, payment ID, amount, status) — we do not store card numbers, CVV, or UPI PINs
  • Comments, likes, and other interactions on articles and podcast content
  • Messages submitted through our contact form
  • Basic technical data such as IP address and browser type for security

How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your user account
  • To process session bookings and payments
  • To send booking confirmations, reminders, and account-related emails
  • To provide access to articles, podcast media, comments, and community features
  • To respond to contact queries, refund requests, and support needs
  • To improve platform security, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations

Payment Processing

Online payments are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited, our authorised payment gateway partner. When you pay for a session, your payment information is transmitted directly to Razorpay over encrypted connections. Because Psychology receives only transaction status, order references, and limited billing metadata needed to confirm your booking. Please review Razorpay’s Privacy Policy for details on how they handle payment data.

Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Data may be shared only with trusted service providers (such as payment processors and email delivery services) who are required to protect it, or when required by law.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication, session management, and CSRF protection. Third-party services such as Google reCAPTCHA and Razorpay checkout may set additional cookies during payment.

Data Retention

We retain account and booking records for as long as needed to provide services, resolve disputes, and meet legal and tax requirements. Payment records may be kept for the period required under applicable Indian regulations.

Your Rights

You may request to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your account and associated data, subject to legal retention requirements
  • Withdraw consent for optional communications
